In August, Franklin leaves the group and Destiny's Child remains a trio.

Charlie's Angels Soundtrack

Destiny's Child contributes "Independent Women, Pt. 1" to the Charlie's Angels movie soundtrack (starring Cameron Diaz, Drew Barrymore and Lucy Liu). The song spends 11 weeks at No. 1, raising the group's profile to full-fledged pop phenomenon.

As an added bonus, she reached out to her Spanish-speaking fans, and released Irreemplazable, an album featuring Spanish versions of 3 songs and a duet with Alejandro Fernández for a theme song for Telemundo's "Zorro: La Espada y La Rosa."

The Beyoncé Experience Begins!

Beyoncé's second world tour started off in Tokyo, Japan. Along with Suga Mama and the Mamas, each concert was over 2 hours long. With guests like Kelly Rowland, Michelle Williams, and Robin Thicke. The DVD release of the concert was in Staples Center, Los Angeles, California on September 2, 2007; 2 days before her 26th birthday. Kelly Rowland, Michelle Williams, the performers, and the crowd sang happy birthday to her to make the day even more special.

Beyoncé rocked the stage with Mo'nique, Kelly Rowland, Michelle Williams, and her sister Solange with their performance of "Get Me Bodied", followed by a performance of "Like This" by Kelly with Eve. During the rest of the show, she won Best R&B Artist and Video of the Year for "Irreplaceable". She was well respected by Mo'nique and fans.

Beyoncé Makes AMA History

At the 35th Annual American Music Awards, Beyoncé sings a Bluegrass version of her No. 1 hit "Irreplaceable" with country group Sugarland. She ends the night making history as the first woman to win the International Artist Award. When Usher presents her with the honor, the stunning songstress says, "I'm so blessed to wake up every morning and do what I love. I don't take it for granted."

There were many rumors of Beyoncé and Jay-Z getting married throughout the years of 2005 to 2007. After getting a marriage license in Scarsdale, New York on April 2, 2008, the rumors got bigger. On the 4th day of the 4th month (being the days Jay and Bey were born, September 4 and December 4), they tied the knot. The newly weds kept the marriage ceremony secret, with a private get-together of some friends and family in Jay-Z's penthouse in Tribeca. Congrats to the couple!

B'Day is the second studio album by American R&B singer Beyoncé, released by Columbia Records on September 1, 2006 outside North America, on September 4, 2006 worldwide, and on September 5, 2006 in Canada and the United States. The album's title comes from the fact that September 4 is Beyoncé's birthday. B'Day won the award for Best Contemporary R&B Album at the 49th Annual Grammy Awards.


Knowles had "bottled up so many things, so many emotions, so many ideas", though at the same time feeling that she "didn't want to do another album like Dangerously in Love because that's boring", that she decided to leave her vacation early to record the album in two weeks, recording three songs a day. She did this without telling her father/manager Mathew Knowles or her record label, Columbia Records. At that time Knowles had booked the whole New York City Sony Studios, simultaneously recording with an "all-star team of producers", including Rodney Jerkins, Rich Harrison, The Neptunes, Stargate, Cameron Wallace, Walter Milsap, and Swizz Beatz. Rapper T.I. also joined the sessions to record a verse for "Upgrade U", but like Lil Wayne he did not make the cut on B’Day.
"Resentment" is a cover of a song originally recorded by Victoria Beckham. The track, which was also covered by Jazmine Sullivan in 2004, appeared on the The Real Beckhams DVD release as a bonus song. It features slightly altered lyrics, and thus a writing credit for Knowles.

The album debuted at number one on the U.S. Billboard 200 with first week sales of 541,000 copies, and at number one on the Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. In the UK it peaked at number three on its release before quickly falling out of the top twenty. After being reduced in price in the Christmas and January sales however, B'Day re-entered the top twenty and later received a platinum certificate. According to mediatraffic, B’Day was the twelfth biggest selling album of 2006 worldwide. When the album was re-released with new material, it jumped from number sixty-nine to number six.


The first single from the album was "Déjà Vu", a 1970s funk-influenced uptempo track featuring Jay-Z. The song reached number one on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and number four on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The song also became Beyonce's second UK number-one hit. "Ring the Alarm", the second single, peaked at number eleven on the Hot 100, and at number three on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. It was not released outside the U.S. "Irreplaceable", the third U.S. single and second non-U.S. single, was at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 for ten weeks in succession, and topped the United World Chart for twelve weeks. During the chart run of "Irreplaceable", "Upgrade U" (also featuring Jay-Z) was a radio hit, debuting on the Billboard Hot 100 without an official release. The song reached number fifty-nine on the Hot 100 and peaked at number eleven on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.

"Beautiful Liar", Beyoncé's duet with Shakira, was the first single from the re-release of B'Day, and the fourth single from the album overall. The single made the top five in the U.S and became the second B'Day single to top the UK Singles Chart, holding the position for three weeks. The "Beautiful Liar" and "Upgrade U" videos (off the B’Day Anthology Video Album) were premiered on February 28 on BET's 106 & Park to promote the deluxe edition of B'Day. In a similar fashion to "Upgrade U", "Get Me Bodied" entered the Hot R&B/Hip Hop Songs chart without any official promotion, peaking at number forty-seven, and it entered the Billboard Hot 100. After its radio success, "Get Me Bodied" was released as the fifth U.S. single from B'Day. The video is included on the B'Day Video Anthology. The fifth non-U.S. single was "Green Light", which has had commercial success in countries such as the UK.
B’Day was nominated for five Grammy Awards, including "Best Female R&B Vocal Performance" for "Ring the Alarm", "Best R&B Song" for "Déjà Vu", "Best Contemporary R&B Album", "Best Rap/Sung Collaboration" for "Déjà Vu", and "Best Remixed Recording, Non-Classical" for "Déjà Vu" (Freemasons club mix - no rap) (remixed by Russell Small and James Wiltshire). It won "Best Contemporary R&B Album".

B’Day Anthology Video Album is a video album, released by the American R&B singer-songwriter Beyoncé, it was released alongside B’Day Deluxe Edition on April 3, 2007.


The B’Day Anthology Video Album was a Wal-Mart exclusive product in the United States but is now sold in other stores. This DVD contains the music videos already shot to promote the singles released from the album ("Deja Vu", "Ring the Alarm", and "Irreplaceable"). In addition to those videos, Beyoncé also went on to record music videos to many of the rest of the tracks.

Minor clips of all these videos were shown on MTV's TRL on the day Beyoncé went there to premiere "Beautiful Liar". These small clips were also shown on BET's 106 & Park while the singer was there to premiere "Upgrade U". The compilation DVD was also promoted by a BET and a MTV Hits special which premiered the videos with Beyoncé's commentary about the filming process and/or the lyrics

In late March, the music videos which were previously unseen by the public leaked on the Internet. On April 2, the full-length videos for "Get Me Bodied (Extended Mix)", "Kitty Kat/Green Light", and "Suga Mama" premiered on BET to promote the B’Day Anthology Video Album which was released on the following day. The videos have garnished thousands of views on YouTube and other video sharing sites even though this clearly violates the terms of use of those sites.

Another flagrant copyright infringement is the fact that this video album contains the track "Still in Love (Kissing You)", a cover of the song "I'm Kissing You" originally performed by Des'Ree. Des'ree filed a lawsuit against Beyoncé on April 18, 2007, alleging Knowles never obtained proper clearance to use the song. Des'ree claims the terms her team submitted to Knowles for use of the song were not satisfactory, and as a result the former Destiny's Child star ignored copyright law and recorded her own version. The terms stated Knowles couldn't retitle the song or film a video using the track. Des'ree is seeking $150,000 in damages.


In the DVD feature "Anthology Behind The Scenes", Beyoncé said that,
“ First it was just "Green Light" and "Upgrade U". Let's sneak in "Kitty Kat". We might as well put in "Suga Mama". We gotta do "Get Me Bodied", that's the dance record. Gotta do something for "Beautiful Liar", that's the song with Shakira, of course we know we gotta do a video for that. ”


Beyoncé added,
“ If I had another week I probably would have shot three more videos. ”

About The Videos

Déjà Vu: During the making of the video for "Déjà Vu", Beyoncé recalled being in swamps dodging alligators, snakes and bees. She revealed that she "decided to go to Louisiana because it has a soul that a studio can't give you. We were in the swamps. Literally, there were alligators, snakes, bees, and wasps. The song is about her seeing unreal images because of the absence of her lover. It was 105 degrees. All of that sweat in the video is real. That's not some spritzer. That's real."

Ring The Alarm: The video starts with Beyoncé on a table in an interrogation room set in a milieu similar to the one in the film Basic Instinct, lit with a bright red flashing light. Further perpetuating the comparison to the film is the image of a body covered with a white sheet, suggesting perhaps Beyoncé's character is being investigated for murdering someone. She wears a white skirt and turtleneck also made to resemble Sharon Stone's wardrobe from the movie. The scenes cut between her dancing violently on the table shouting out the lyrics and her sitting on a chair wearing a coat. Irreplaceable:The video is a simple story where Beyoncé's boyfriend is packing his belongings and leaving her house. Between cuts, she is seen dancing, looking at herself in the mirror, huge curlers, a high-waisted skirt, and lipstick, singing with her band, and enjoying herself. The video ends with Beyoncé's new boyfriend at her front door. The background music in the video varies from the album version; it contains more musical instruments. This video also featured a guest appearance by model Bobby Roache. During the video, Beyoncé is seen leaning on a 2007 Jaguar XK.

Listen: Beyoncé is seen in an original photo shoot in clothing she seems to be unhappy in. During the bridge she is finally tired of people changing her image so she removes all her excess clothing and goes up stairs to the roof where she finishes the song.

Kitty Kat: The half-day shoot for "Kitty Kat" was a breeze - except for getting the cats to cooperate. The theme of "Kitty Kat" is Knowles walking an over-sized cat. Knowles wanted the video to be very sexy and sassy. She imitaded cat movements and crawled for most of the video while wearing cheetah print clothes, shoes and earings. The video was shot on green screen to give the appearence of Knowles riding the cat. They used a plastic cow with black fur on for the model cat.

Green Light: "Green Light" was an intense three-day shoot. The video was inspired by Robert Palmer's "Addicted to Love" video with the sexy, sheik women with blank expressions in a simple almost black and white theme. The "patent-leather, ballet-pointe heels" she wears in the clip, blistered her feet and gave her legs muscle spasms.

Upgrade U: In between "Kitty Kat" and "Green Light", "Upgrade U" was shot in a day and a half. The theme of "Upgrade U" is of silver and gold metalics. There are several shots of diamonds, rings, and car keys. Things that are "fabulous" and "upgrade your life." Jay-Z shot his part first. Beyoncé then studied his scene for her impersonation. The choregraphy has a street edge using only male dancers.

Get Me Bodied: "Get Me Bodied" was a two-day shoot. The video had 50 extras. Tina Knowles made 60 dresses for all of them. It was mainly inspired by "The Rich man's Frug". The video also featured cameos by former Destiny's Child member's Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams. Along side them was Beyoncé's younger sister Solange Knowles-Smith. The heels worn by Beyoncé, Kelly, Michelle, and Solange wore 6-inch platforms that made dancing in gravel difficult for the scene when the girls are about to enter the club. Because of scheduling conflicts the extended dances at the end of the video could only be shot once each so all dancers had to get the steps right the first time.

Suga Mama: Beyoncé opens up the video acting like a masculine women while smoking a cigar. She then removes her hat and coat and begins pole dancing. Knowles is also seen dancing on a "sugar cube". Beyoncé had never ridden a mechanical bull before until they started shooting. The man who came with the bull was playing a game. Every time they called 'Action!' he made it go faster and because Beyoncé tried to do tricks too complicated for a novice she kept falling off. So they shot those scenes at 12 frames a second, with her singing twice as fast, so that she wouldn't have to be on the bull for as long.

Freakum Dress: 30 dresses were made for this 18-hour shoot in New York by Tina Knowles (eight dresses for Beyoncé). Sometimes Tina would have to make dresses on the spot. The dresses Beyoncé and her dancers wear constantly change in the video to the beat of the song. Beyoncé borrowed the glasses she wears at the podium from her makeup artist, Francesca. The director for the video was Ray Kay who also shot "Soldier" for Destiny's Child.

Beautiful Liar: Beyoncé and Shakira made up choreography in 40 minutes for this two-day shoot, so Shakira taught her a bit of belly-dancing. In the video Beyoncé & Shakira are seen as oppisites (Beyoncé having sunrise in the first verse while Shakira has sunset). In th breakdown at the end of the video the women do an arabic style belly dance like mirror reflections of each other.

Flaws and All: Beyoncé did her own hair and makeup for this clip shot in inexpensive Super 8 film, in which she emulates Marilyn Monroe, Brigitte Bardot and Barbra Streisand. The video features a black and white theme and a grainy film texture. Knowles does not actually mime the lyrics but acts out parts of the song and poses. The camera shots are all still placing Beyoncé in the middle of each shot taking focus away from the background. Several of the scenes used in the video had been shot in 2006 for a B'Day promotional add by Wal-Mart.

Still In Love (Kissing You): Beyoncé recorded the song last minute and was not intended for the album. Director Cliff Watts (who shot Beyoncé's Sports Illustrated cover) went on a trip to Miami and, after shopping for a black bathing suits, they shot it on Super 8, with Beyoncé doing her own hair and makeup. This is a cover song for Des'ree song "I'm Kissing You". She said Beyonce could only use the song if she didn't change the name or put the song in video form. She did both anyways.

Co-produced by Pharrell and Beyoncé, it was released as fifth UK single on July 30, 2007. Two weeks prior to physical release in the UK, the single managed to chart at number 152 on the UK Singles Chart (based solely on downloads). OCC compiles the Top 200 as the full sales chart for singles and albums, with Top 75 being officially charted. As of July 18, 2007, Green Light (Freemasons Remix) was added to the Radio 1 A-Playlist.

According to thelondonpaper, the "uh-oh-oh-oh-oh" vocal in the song is "a blatant steal" from the 2005 Amerie single "1 Thing". Amerie said that she was flattered by it and that she liked the song.

It was released as a single on August 13, 2007, and was recorded in Sony Music Studios.

The music video for "Green Light" was co-directed by Melina and Knowles herself. Shot in early February 2007, it was one out of eight previously unseen clips to appear on Knowles' B’Day Anthology Video Album. A one-minute music video for "Kitty Kat" serves as the intro for this video (only using the intro, 3rd verse, and an extended chorus).

The clip was inspired by Madonna's Human Nature but mainly by Robert Palmer's 1980's music videos, specifically by his 1985 single "Addicted to Love" and its "its stone-faced models pretending to play guitars." Knowles who called it the toughest video to shoot because of the pointe shoes she had to wear and dance in, described it as a "modern version" of Palmer's video. "I was pretending to be a rock star!," she said in an interview with MTV News. "The set reminded me of Vanity 6. I play a little bit of guitar ... (it) felt good in my hands." Beyoncé's invited her all-female tour band, Suga Mama, to make their second in a video after appearing in "Irreplaceable".

The video was also popular enough in the United States to reach the iTunes Top 10 R&B/Soul Videos chart, prior to any promotion for the song or any sort of release. The video has also reached the Top 100 Video downloads for all genres.

"Check on It" is an R&B song written by Beyoncé Knowles, Kasseem Dean, Sean Garrett, Angela Beyincé, and Stayve Thomas for the soundtrack to the 2006 film The Pink Panther, in which Beyoncé co-stars. Although not included on its soundtrack album, the song is included on Destiny's Child's greatest hits album, #1's; it also appears on select non-U.S. versions of Knowles' second studio album, B’Day. It was produced by Knowles and Swizz Beatz. Knowles has stated on many occasions that she was surprised at how successful the single became because she felt that it was very simple and probably wouldn't catch on like some of her previous singles. Knowles said that the song started out as a joke, and that the title "Check on It" was jokingly used with her and her management before they decided to turn it into a song. Though the song had worldwide success, Knowles has stated she disliked the song. It is on her set list for her tour The Beyoncé Experience, but she only performs the last lines of the first verse a cappella and a set of the chorus. In the beginning of the song, Swizz Beatz says "Swizz... Beatz... DC Destiny's Child", even though the record only features Knowles singing lead.


The song was not originally intended for release as a single from #1's, but it was played by U.S. radio stations instead of the first single, "Stand Up for Love" (recorded by all three members of Destiny's Child), which became a commercial failure. Because of its heavy airplay, "Check on It" debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 in late 2005. The single reached number one on the Hot 100 in its twelfth week on the chart (replacing Nelly's "Grillz"), becoming Knowles's third number-one as a solo artist and Slim Thug's first. The single remained at number-one for five consecutive weeks, and it was certified four times platinum by the RIAA for net shipment of 800,000 paid downloads. "Check on It" achieved crossover success, peaking at number one on the Rhythmic Top 40 and Hot Dance Club Play charts, and at number three on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. "Check on It" reached number one on the Pop 100, becoming Knowles's first entry on the chart. It was the eighth most played song of 2006 on the radio, being played 290,231 times.

It became Knowles' fifth top-twenty hit in Canada in late 2005, and in February 2006 the song climbed to number twenty on the Canadian BDS airplay chart for a second time. It debuted inside the UK top five and peaked at number three, selling 122,500 copies. On January 31, 2006 "Check on It" passed the 200 million audience impressions mark in the United States, according to Mediabase, becoming Knowles' first single to do so; her late 2006 single "Irreplaceable" also passed the 200 million audience impressions mark, making her one of two artists to have two singles pass the 200 million mark in a single year, the other being Mariah Carey ("We Belong Together" and "Shake It Off" in 2005). "Check on It" reached the top five in Norway and the Netherlands, the top ten in Europe, Switzerland, Austria and Brazil, and the top twenty in Germany and Sweden. The single peaked at number two on the United World Chart.

Music World Music/Columbia Records will release "The Beyoncé Experience LIVE!"-- a deluxe DVD capturing all the visual thrills and musical excitement of the year's most spectacular world concert tour, "The Beyoncé Experience brought to you by Samsung and L'Oréal Paris" -- on Tuesday, November 20.

Recorded on September 2, 2007 during Beyoncé's SRO performance at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, "The Beyoncé Experience LIVE!" DVD contains Beyoncé's full concert performance -- more than 2 hours of music -- and includes performances by special guest artist Jay-Z as well as that evening's historic reunion of Beyoncé's R&B/pop supergroup Destiny's Child.

Superstar and cultural icon Beyoncé launched her 2007 world tour in Tokyo on April 10 following the release of her latest chart-topping album, "B'Day," bringing the multi-media extravaganza stateside beginning July 6 at the Superdome in New Orleans.

''Dangerously in Love'' is an R&B/soul song written by Destiny's Child member Beyoncé Knowles and producer Errol McCalla Jr. The ballad was first recorded for Destiny's Child's third studio album, 'Survivor'' (2001). The song was recorded with Knowles as lead vocalist, and it is one of the few songs on the album ''Survivor'' that Knowles sings almost completely solo. It is suggested that at the time of recording, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams, the other members of Destiny's Child, did not bond with the song as much as Knowles did.

Knowles re-recorded the song for her debut solo album, ''Dangerously in Love'' (2003), under the title "Dangerously in Love 2". Featuring a modified arrangement and background vocals by Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams, Knowles's version received a generally positive response from music critics. In the U.S. the song went for radio airplay only and was never released as a single in other countries. No music video exists for the song, though the performance on her DVD ''Live at Wembley'' was shown frequently on BET.

Knowles frequently performs the song live and often as a prelude to ''Crazy in Love", and more recently with her live cover of the Jill Scott song "He Loves Me" and often to show her vocal power and range. "Naughty Girl" is an R&B song performed by Beyoncé. It was released as the fourth single from her debut solo album 'Dangerously in Love'. "Naughty Girl" was originally supposed to be the first single from ''Dangerously in Love''. The single was deemed not to have potential to fail but, at the same time, not to become a big hit. The single was pushed back when "Crazy in Love" was chosen as the first single. On "Naughty Girl", over a disco-flavored beat, Beyoncé declares that she's feeling sexy and wants to hear her name spoken by her lover; she then intimates her carnal desires as she offers the suggestion, "Tonight, I'll be your naughty girl."
